Rupert Brooke
RUPERT BROOKE (1887-1915) was born in a well-to-do academic family. His father was a housemaster at Rugby School, where Rupert was educated before going to King’s College, Cambridge.
रूपर्ट ब्रुक 1887-1915 एक शिक्षा सम्पन्न परिवार में हुआ था। उनके पिता रूग्बी स्कूल में एक व्यवस्थापक (गृह स्वामी) थे, जहाँ रूपर्ट कैम्ब्रीज के किंग्स कॉलेज में जाने से पहले शिक्षा ग्रहण किए थे।

प्रसिद्ध कवि डस्ल्यु बी यीट्स ने इन्हें इंग्लैंड के सबसे सुंदर युवा के रूप में व्याख्या किया हुआ है।
He assumed a symbolic role that eventually turned into the myth of a young and beautiful fallen warrior.
He died of septicaemia on April 23, 1915, off the island of Lemnos in the Aegean on his way to a battle at Gavipoli.
इन्होंने एक प्रतिकात्मक भूमिका निभाई जो अंत में इन्हे एक युवा और सुंदर योद्धा बना दियाा। उनकी मृत्यु गैविपोली के युद्ध मैदान में जाने के दौरान एजियन के लेमनोंस द्विप पर 23 ।चतपस 1915 ई० को रक्त के जहर बन जाने के कारण हो गई।
Brooke is remembered as a ‘war poet’ who inspired patriotism in the early phase of the First World War. His reputation chiefly rests on five war sonnets of which The soldier’ is undoubtedly the best and the most anthologised.
ब्रुक को ’युद्ध कवि’ के रूप में याद किया जाता है जो प्रथम विश्व युद्ध के शुरूआती चरण में देशभक्ति को प्रेरित किया।
उनकी महत्ता मुख्य रूप से पाँच युद्ध सोनेटृस पर टिकी है, जिनमें ’द सोल्जर’ निसंदेह सबसे अच्छी तरिका से संकलित है।

If I should die, think only this of me:
That there’s some corner of a foreign field That is for ever England. There shall be
यदि मैं मर जाऊँ तो सिर्फ मेरे बारे में सोंचना;
कि विदेशी धरती का कुछ कोना है, जो हमेशा के लिए इंग्लैंड का हो जाएगा।
In that rich earth a richer dust concealed; A dust whom England bore, shaped, made aware,
Gave, once, her flowers to love, her ways to roam, A body of England’s, breathing English air,
Washed by the rivers, blest by suns of home.
And think, this heart, all evil shed away,
A pulse in the eternal mind, no less
Gives, somewhere back the thoughts by England given; Her sights and sounds; dreams happy as her day; And laughter, learnt of friends, and gentleness,
In hearts at peace, under an English heaven.

उस समृद्ध धरती में एक समृद्ध (मिट्टी) कण मिल गई (दफन हो गई)
वह कण (शरीर) जिसे इंग्लैंड ने जागरूक बनाया, आकार दिया तथा जन्म दिया। कभी अपने फुल दिए प्रेम करने के लिए , अपने रास्ते दिए घूमने के लिए।
इंग्लैंड का वह शरीर, जिसने इंग्लैंड की हवा साँस के रूप में लिया, नदियों के द्वारा धोया गया, इंग्लैंड के सूर्य के द्वारा आशीर्वाद दिया गया।
और सोंचो, यह दिल की सारी बुराइयाँ मिट जाएगी,
इंग्लैड के द्वारा दी गई यादें (विचार) फिर से याद करेंगें।
हमारी अनंत सोंचो दिमाग में कंपन करती रहेगी।
कभी खत्म नही होगी।
इंग्लैंड के द्वारा दिए गए विचार जो पहले से है,
वह हमारे मन में केपन करती रहेगी वह हभी कम नही होगी।
अर्थात हमारे मन में इंग्लैंड में कंपन करती रहेगी।
उसकी दृश्यें और आवाजें; उनके दिन के रूप में प्रसन्न सपनें;
और हँसी, जो दोस्तो से सिखा और भद्रता (विनम्रता)
अंग्रेजी स्वर्ग में अर्थात शांत हृदय में।
शांत दिल में, विनम्रता से अंग्रेजी स्वर्ग में अच्छे पलों को याद करेंगें।
