Position Summary: In Radiology, an actionable finding is a finding that is identified on imaging exams that were performed for a different purpose and requires follow up. This position acts as a lead for system-wide Actionable Findings and is responsible for the success of the program by engaging in PDSA/performance improvement processes to refine and improve outcomes as well as managing the Actionable Findings Analysts work schedules and work effort. Major Responsibilities: Actionable Findings: Oversees the process to ensure that follow up recommendations for Actionable Findings have been completed. This includes reviewing and gathering information from multiple sources within the electronic medical record. Ensures the patient and/or patient?s primary care provider is informed of the recommendation for the actionable finding. Documents actions and steps taken in the medical record. Refers questions or concerns regarding the actionable finding(s) to the reading radiologist. Uses quantitative and qualitative data analysis to assess and recommend program improvements. Performs PDSA/performance improvement for the actionable findings process to refine and improve outcomes. Management Duties: Acts as lead for the success of the program. Works collaboratively with organizational stakeholders and department leadership (Radiology, Emergency Department, Quality, Risk Management) and facilitates Actionable Finding meetings with above departments. Develops, implements, supports and/or attends related programs/workshops/seminars/support services, etc. Creates and publishes work schedule for Actionable Findings staff; manages time off requests and ensures work time is documented correctly. Prepares metrics for Actionable Findings Leadership to meet requests for data. Monitors work effort of Actionable Findings staff, monitors backlog and metrics, escalates any issues with productivity to leadership. Communicates changes in workflow process to Actionable Findings staff; maintains documentation of workflow processes and SharePoint site. Participates in the annual employee review process with Actionable Finding leadership; assists with ongoing education for Actionable Findings staff. Position Qualifications: License/Certification/Education: Required: Bachelor?s degree in Nursing. Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse licensure and registration. Preferred: Master?s Degree. Experience/Skills: Required: Minimum of 5 years nursing experience. Demonstrated leadership skills. Skilled with an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software. Excellent teaching skills, consultation skills and customer service skills. Excellent critical thinking skills and attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Computer literate with knowledge of Excel, maintenance of spreadsheets. Preferred: Experience with project implementation/improvement initiatives. Lean Yellow or Green Belt Training/Certification. Experience in the acute care or ambulatory setting.
