Summary:
CPMG is in search of a Lead Researcher to work remotely.

Essential Job Functions:
Digital research (including social listening, media engagement, and networks of influence) using open source tools
Desk-based research using academic papers, grey literature, and media articles
Monitor publicly available information across social networks and wider media ecosystems
Conduct research to better understand the digital information/disinformation environment in Belarus, including the socio-political and cultural context, likely discourse ecologies, narratives to be aware of, which platforms are likely being exploited
Conduct audience research to understand their vulnerabilities and attitudes (e.g. levels of trust in different information sources and belief in the core narratives previously identified)
Identify and increase audience reach and share of voice of local influencers who promote a positive vision for a democratic Belarus via training.
Track and map Belarussian / Russian-backed state media, disinformation trends, and messaging spread by bad actors including trolls, bots, and sock puppets.
Build a knowledge base and provide monthly reports on the media environment that will inform the other aspects of the campaign
Write concise and timely reports and make recommendations based on research.
Advise a Strategy team on relevant strategy development.
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative research methods.
Ability to work independently to assess priorities and manage daily coordination of details with minimal supervision
Experience working in international development, media development, and/or disinformation.
Knowledge of politics, media, and society in Ukraine and Belarus
Strong mixed-method data processing and analysis skills with an eye for accuracy.
Ability to present data in an accessible manner.
Experience in media research.
Excellent team working skills.
Minimum Qualifications:
Four years experience in research or monitoring & evaluation.
Russian and/or Belarussian AND Ukrainian language (written and spoken) communication skills.
English language (written and spoken) communications skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred additional qualifications:
Four years experience in research or monitoring & evaluation.
Russian and/or Belarussian and Ukrainian language (written and spoken) communication skills.
Experience in data analysis and visualization
Experience with social media listening software

Pay: $65,000.00 – $67,000.00 per year
