How youll make an impact:
As a Miaplaza Content Moderator, you will play an important role in creating a safe and engaging social environment for children. This position is focused on reading and moderating texts, artwork, and videos posted by children in our educational website community. While not educating students on core subjects, Moderators are a key component to the education of children, guiding students to develop social skills by encouraging them to be a part of the community in a respectful way.
The Moderation department at Miaplaza operates in a fast-paced environment requiring team members to make decisive judgment calls throughout their day. Moderators typically handle up to 500 posts per hour. If you thrive in a fast paced environment and are ready for this challenge, we encourage you to apply!

What youll do:
Monitor and review a high volume of student-generated content to ensure adherence to community guidelines.
Provide feedback and address concerns for our students to maintain a positive and welcoming environment.
Stay updated on trends and pop culture to understand and relate to the young audience.
Collaborate with the moderation management team and other Moderators to develop, implement, and improve content moderation policies and guidelines.
Participate in training sessions on content moderation techniques and tools.

Strong proficiency with technology and aptitude to learn new technologies and processes quickly
Confidence to make decisive judgment calls on students posts
Ability to stay up-to-date with current trends to understand and relate to young audiences
Ability to interact with children compassionately and patiently
Access to a computer/laptop (with camera) and reliable high-speed internet connection
Understanding of online safety and child protection principles
Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify subtle issues in user-generated content
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Compensation & benefits:
The expected starting pay range is $16.91-$23.34/hour. Our selected candidates offer will depend on various job-related factors, including location, skills, performance, and business needs. (High cost of labor location: $22.17-$23.34/hour; Average cost of labor location: $19.00-$20.00/hour; Low cost of labor location: $16.91-$17.80/hour)

Schedule:
Moderators work 4-hour shifts, with the option to work 2 back-to-back shifts in a day.
Hours of operation are Sunday through Saturday 3:00 AM – 7:00 PM Pacific (candidates in any U.S. time zone are welcome to apply!)
Moderators begin on a part-time basis and have the opportunity to move into full-time capacity as they become more experienced.
