Our core business hours are between 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM CST; however, this part-time role will be working between the hours of 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM CT. We offer the opportunity of a flexible start/end schedule to accommodate your current schedule; however, the agreed-to schedule will be locked into place prior to employment… to ensure a consistent availability & mutually beneficial arrangement.
Essential Functions
Initiate collection actions by contacting accounts based on due dates; handle calls from patients, insurance companies, and facilities.
Maintain book of business, obtain PO, review, correct and/or submit invoices, claims prepare receivable status reports.
Determine the plan of action , research and resolve denied or disputed balances and list accounts for escalation;
Collaborate with Internal Customers to ensure correct billing/payment for services provided; External Customers including Hospital and Medical Insurance Contract Administrator on delinquent payments.
Generate management reports, provide up to date status and assist with special projects;
Follow HIPAA guidelines and Company Policy Procedures to ensure security of member files.
Position Requirements
Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to problem solve, manage public interactions professionally and remain calm under stress.
Minimum of two years’ experience in Health Care billing and collections; knowledge of Coding and Fair Debt Collection Act and relevant laws.
