What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
– Analyze physician/provider documentation to determine diagnoses and procedures
– Utilize encoder software for assigning diagnosis and procedure codes
– Communicate effectively with clinical staff and physicians regarding documentation
– Collaborate with Regional Shared Services to resolve billing and utilization issues
– Stay up-to-date on changes in coding and reimbursement guidelines
What is Required (Qualifications):
– Completion of an AHIMA or AAPC-approved coding program, or Associate’s degree in Health Information Management
– CCS, CPC, RHIT, or RHIA certification required
– Two years of acute care coding experience
– Current experience in Complex Outpatient or Inpatient coding
– Ability to use standard desktop and windows-based computer systems
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
– 3-5 years of current Complex Outpatient or Inpatient coding experience
– Current experience with remote coding
