Guy Fawkes was an unsocial element in England. In 1605 a gang of unsocial elements in England plotted to blow up the Parliament Guy Fawkes was the leader of the gang.
On 5th November, every year, the anniversary of the discovery of the Gunpowder Plot is celebrated with firework displays and the burning of an effigy of Guy Fawkes on a bonfire.
Burning the effigy of Guy Fawkes is a signal of punishing the bad element.
